Official floral partner of SemperOpernball 2019

Unique flower decorations

Fleurop was the official floral partner of the 14th SemperOpernball on 1 February 2019, when 2,500 guests from the worlds of culture, business and politics, as well as show business stars and starlets, celebrated the night of all nights.

In 2019 the motto of Dresden SemperOpernball was "Fascination Dresden - Dreams come true". The ball is one of the most important in Europe and the largest classical music entertainment event in the German-speaking world. Around 2,500 guests attended and, as every year, thousands of visitors came to watch the spectacle in front of the Semper Opera House. The television stations MDR and 3sat also broadcast the Opera Ball to an audience of around three million.

Always in the picture: thousands of flowers to add a decorative highlight to the evening. More than 7500 stems were used, including roses, anthurium, amaryllis and phalaenopsis. At the entrance to the ball, all guests received a very special individual rose: the very young rose brand 'Highness', developed by Dutch rose grower DeRuiter.

SemperOpernball returns for the 14th time

Since the first SemperOpernball in the winter of 2006, interest has continued to grow and the ball has become one of the largest and most important in Europe. The mix of arts and artists presented on this evening is unique in Germany. Due to the great public interest, 200 accredited journalists attended this unique event. As every year, the media were joined by personalities from the worlds of politics and business, as well as stars and starlets from the worlds of culture and entertainment. The guests and millions of television viewers were treated to an exciting programme, including the spectacular Debutante Waltz, lots of dancing, good music and a very lively atmosphere.

The creative mind behind the floral concept for SemperOpernball 2019 was Björn Kroner from Fleurop's Junge Wilden. For large events like this, Fleurop always works with a local Fleurop florist, in this case Simone Lachmund from Blumenhaus am Weißen Hirsch, who has organised SemperOpernball several times. The preparations for the decorations and set-up took a total of five days, three of which were spent on site at the Semper Opera House in Dresden.
