Let's celebrate summer together and treat our guests to a stylish and refreshing drink. Here's our recipe for the perfect non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz - simple, delicious and always a highlight!

Materials required:

  • 2-3 oranges
  • 200 ml ginger ale
  • approx. 100 ml Sanbittèr
  • Sugar and rosemary for decoration
  • juicer
  • fine sieve
  • Silicone mould for ice cubes, ideally in the shape of a rose
  • Glasses from the ‘Like Glass’ collection from Villeroy & Boch

Instructions for 3-4 small jars - we'll show you how:

Eine Nahaufnahme einer Hand, die eine Orange auf einem weißen Schneidebrett mit einem Messer schneidet. Im Hintergrund befinden sich halbierte Orangen, eine weiße Saftpresse und unscharfe Blumen. Die Person trägt goldene Ringe und hat rote Fingernägel.

Step 1: Prepare the oranges

Start by washing the oranges thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Then place the clean oranges on a chopping board. Take a sharp knife and carefully cut the oranges in half. The freshly halved oranges are now ready to reveal their juicy contents and give the alcohol-free Aperol Spritz its unmistakable flavour.

Step 2: Make orange juice

Take the halved oranges and squeeze them carefully. It is best to use a juicer to extract the maximum juice from the fruit. If you don't want any pulp in the juice, you can pass the freshly squeezed orange juice through a fine sieve. This will give you a clear, fresh juice that is perfect for the alcohol-free Aperol Spritz. The juice is now ready to give your drink a fruity and refreshing flavour.

Step 3: Make ice cubes

Carefully pour about three quarters of the freshly squeezed orange juice into the ice cube moulds. Then place the filled moulds in the freezer for at least 4 hours until the juice is completely frozen. The finished orange juice ice cubes are a refreshing and flavoursome addition to your non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz and ensure a long-lasting cool drink.

Step 4: Prepare the jars

Carefully dip the rim of the glasses briefly into a shallow bowl of water so that the entire rim is slightly moistened. This will ensure that the next step - decorating the rim of the glass - is a success. Make sure that only the rim is moistened.

Step 5: Decorate the glasses

Carefully press the moistened rims of the glasses into a bowl of fine sugar so that the entire rim is evenly covered with sugar. Make sure to turn the glass evenly so that the sugar adheres well and the decoration is even. Then turn the glasses upside down and allow the sugar rim to dry briefly. This not only gives the glasses a decorative touch, but also ensures a sweet surprise with every sip.

Step 6: Prepare the summer drink

Carefully remove the frozen orange juice ice cubes from the mould. Divide one ice cube into each of the prepared sugar-rimmed glasses.

Step 7: Refine the summer drink

Pour the San Bitter evenly into the glasses with the orange juice ice cubes. You can adjust the amount of San Bitter to your personal taste - depending on how intense you prefer the flavour. Then top up the glasses with chilled ginger ale until they are completely full. This combination gives your summer drink a refreshing and tangy flavour, perfect for warm summer days.

Step 8: Finalise your summer drink

Finish off your drink with sprigs of fresh rosemary or thyme to add an aromatic and visual touch. If you like, allow the orange juice ice cubes to thaw a little beforehand so that they release their fruity flavour into the drink more quickly. Now you can serve and enjoy your refreshing summer drink.

That's it!

The non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz brings the taste of summer, sunshine and good humour straight into your glass. With its bright colour and tangy aroma, it is the perfect companion for sociable evenings outdoors. It is very easy to prepare and can be flavoured with various fruits and herbs as desired.

Tip: If you make several rose ice cubes in advance, you are always prepared for spontaneous guests and can surprise them with a real eye-catching drink.
