Sustainable baby's breath and eucalyptus confetti for your wedding
In addition to the table decorations, you can also design other elements and details that should not be missing at a wedding yourself. We can't offer you a sustainable confetti cannon with this DIY, but we can give you instructions on how to make sustainable confetti yourself. One sustainable option, for example, is to use dried flowers as a sprinkling decoration - whether for throwing at the bride and groom after the ceremony or as a table decoration. Wedding confetti is always a great idea and if you use dried flowers, such as gypsophila and eucalyptus, you don't have to worry about tidying up afterwards. Do you like this idea as much as we do? Then you'll find everything you need to make your own here, as well as the step-by-step instructions.
Materials required:
- Dried eucalyptus and dried gypsophila
- Kraft paper sheets in 15x15 cm
- Double-sided adhesive tape
In preparation for the DIY, the flowers are placed in a vase without water. After a few days, the grasses and flowers will have dried and can be used as wedding confetti.
Instructions for the confetti
Step 1: Collect leaves & flowers
Firstly, the leaves and flowers are removed from the eucalyptus and gypsophila branches to create the scattered pieces. Important: The flowers and leaves should be completely dry so that no mould can form.
Step 2: Prepare the bags
The next step is to apply a strip of double-sided adhesive tape to the edges of the square sheets.
Step 3: Roll up & fix the bags
The leaves can then be shaped into small croissants and fixed in place using the adhesive strip.
Step 4: Fill bags with confetti
Finally, the cones just need to be filled with the natural confetti. It's so quick and easy to make your own sustainable confetti.
Done!
Tip: To provide the confetti at the wedding, the cones can be arranged in a small basket. In addition to the wedding confetti, this also creates a beautiful detail for personalised decorations for the moment before the ceremony.
