DIY idea for your wedding invitations with dried flowers
Have you finalised the date and location for your wedding? Then the next step is the wedding invitations. There are numerous providers from whom you can order ready-made versions. However, homemade invitations are much nicer and, above all, more personal. Making a wedding invitation doesn't have to involve a lot of effort. The themes of weddings and flowers not only go together wonderfully, they can also be combined to create a great DIY idea: Dried flower invitation cards for the wedding.
Materials required:
- Printed template
- Cutter knife
- Cutting ruler and cutting mat
- Jute string
- Flowers that can be dried (wheat, grasses, gypsophila, sea lilac, panicum)
In preparation for the DIY, the flowers are placed in a vase or other container without water. Suitable dried flowers for cards include wheat, grasses and gypsophila. These grasses and flowers will have dried after a few days and can be used as mini dried flowers for your wedding invitation design.
Step-by-step instructions for the wedding invitations
Step 1: Print out template & prepare cards
Firstly, the template is printed out on thicker paper. In the example, we have used a thicker paper in the colour light green. The individual cards are then cut out with the cutter knife and the cards are cut along the lines.
Step 2: Tie mini bouquets
In the next step, small mini bouquets are made from the dried flowers and grasses.
Step 3: Insert the bouquet through the card slot
After labelling the invitation cards, the small dried flower bouquets can be inserted through the cut-out. Making wedding invitations has never been easier and your guests are sure to appreciate the personal touch.
